Abstract

This work articulates the Subjective Numbness category as a placement alternative to read contemporary social realities. As a result of conjunctural experiences of high emotional tension, numbness is thought to respond and resignify the limbic psychic space with a feeling of disconnection in which the subjects find themselves when the context exerts the dominant to maintain hegemonic tendencies. This category serves as a device to recognize what blocks the visualization of possible horizons of change, but also to see the potentiality of unleashing consciences and hopes that respond to the most felt social concerns. The subjective, social, systemic, and hegemonic are elements that constantly complement and tension each other, which fills with content what one wants to articulate, and the understanding of these tensions opens the opportunity to participate in the meaningful transformation of their own social contexts.
