Abstract
The career of José Francisco Navarro SJ (1959-2017) invites us to review his intense work in order to appreciate what his presence left in art and academic life, especially at Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University (UARM). Thus, the effort that defined his life was the integration of all human aspects. As an academic, he studied the poetry of Adélia Prado, which led him to translate most of the author’s poems. Also, his academic legacy is embodied in his work within the Humanities Program of UARM, which was directed by him for several years. On the other hand, on the spiritual side, he found a way to transform people’s lives through workshops of art and spirituality, in which he helped people to discover the mystique in art. This is, finally, the last dimension that we propose to approach to the integration that José Francisco Navarro represents. As an artist, he knew how to link the pictorial arts with literature and music in order to create a work that is yet to be fully discovered.
