Abstract
This essay intends to examine the understanding of the concept of "reconciliation" in the context of transitional justice projects. It is about discussing the place of the exercise of memory and the care of justice in the processes of social and political reconciliation in post-conflict societies. In this sense, the author contrasts the tasks of the Truth Commissions of South Africa and Peru. The analysis of the levels of reconciliation proposed by the Peruvian TRC concludes with a reflection on the crisis that our society is facing today.
