To hermeneutics of the culture of peace: Who is my neighbor?
A justification based on Fratelli Tutti

The concept of culture of peace was coined by the Jesuit priest Felipe Mac Gregor in a context marked by widespread violence in Peru and around the world. Since the Second World War, violence and war have not ceased but have instead shifted in terms of setting and protagonists.
This has required, on the part of philosophy and the humanities, the development of a hermeneutics of peace. In this sense, thinking about war implies thinking about peace, even if this entails relentless efforts to justify who the other is (or who my neighbor is) and why we ought to be neighbors to them. The principle of justification represents the rehabilitation of practical reason, which is why, in the reading of Fratelli Tutti, we find the grounds for the culture of peace to be once again validated by those involved in the various conflicts.
