This text offers an interpretation of Hegel’s comprehension of the French Revolution’s processes. It aims to propose an alternative option, different from those who belong to traditional postures which are focus on a discussion with Rousseau or on the conservative ideas of Hegel. This interpretation follows the path opened by the text’s internal key aspects because they expound what is the German philosopher’s grasp of the process that led to this political revolution. This proposal is born from research that highlights the tensions between revolution and non-violent social transformation in the context marked by the Philosophy and Theology of Liberation in Colombia.
