Transhumanismo en perspectiva
Evolución histórica, debates éticos e implicancias sociales

En un mundo donde los límites del potencial humano están siendo redefinidos, el transhumanismo surge como un fenómeno cultural y filosófico que desafía las nociones tradicionales de identidad, ética y progreso social, convirtiéndose en el centro de debates en diversos campos del conocimiento. En este contexto, el presente artículo tiene por objetivo analizar la evolución histórica, las divisiones internas, los debates éticos y las implicancias sociales del transhumanismo. Los resultados muestran que el transhumanismo ha experimentado una evolución multifacética, marcada por la contracultura de los años sesenta que fusionó tecnología con ideales utópicos, la cibercultura de finales del siglo XX, que enfatizó la innovación digital y las identidades ciborg, así como las influencias posmodernas posteriores al 11 de septiembre, que introdujeron preocupaciones existenciales y de seguridad. En conclusión, el transhumanismo representa una serie de potenciales beneficios, tales como el mejoramiento de las capacidades humanas y la longevidad, aunque se ven contrarrestados por riesgos como la desigualdad y un uso indebido. Por ende, es vital su regulación para alinear el progreso tecnológico con los valores humanos fundamentales.
